The Center position isn’t what it used to be in the NBA. Gone are the days of post generals like Patrick Ewing and Shaq, but all is not lost at the position. The new breed of Center is emerging, quick athletic big men who love to finish in transition and can pass the ball with ease in the hald-court.
Catch our list of the top five centers in the NBA below:
#5 Al Horford
Al Horford is one of the most efficient post players in the NBA. Offensively, Horford combines a smooth mid-range game with a plethora of moves down low. While Al may be undersized to play center (6-10, 245 on a good day) he holds his own on defense due to great footwork and a non-stop motor. Horford is also a great passing big man, as he’s floating around three assists per game on his career. Look for Horford to stay healthy this year and make an All-Star appearance for Atlanta.
