Just based on the bird’s stance and looks when relaxed, it looks like a parakeet to me. (if the two general options are parakeet or English budgie). Not positive though. And I’m not sure if our terminologies are getting crossed up. : )

Sure the kitten is just playing with the bird…. for now! If you look at the pictures where the kitten is pawing at the parakeet… you can tell as soon as that cat gets older and has claws it will kill that bird for sure (accident or not)! So sad…. it looks like a very sweet parakeet.
