Charlo Greene knows how to make an impactful exit. The KTVA reporter was in the midst of wrapping up an informative segment about the Alaskan Cannabis Club, when she set the news show ablaze with her shocking confession: She’s not only a supporter of the club, but the owner. “Now, everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska.” said the news reporter.
To put the icing on the cake, Charlo follows up her shocking news by quitting her job mid-segment. “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice, but fuck it, I quit.” After the announcement Greene shared a statement about the on-air segment. “I wanted to draw attention to this issue. And the issue is medical marijuana,” said Greene. “Ballot Measure 2 is a way to make medical marijuana real … most patients didn’t know the state didn’t set up the framework to get patients their medicine.”
Time will tell if the calculated risk Greene took with her journalism career will pan out for the club. The clip of her television segment has over 650,000 views on YouTube at the moment.
