Dancing With The Stars has been a staple in primetime television for 19 seasons. The show is known for combining famous actors and athletes with professional dancers on the show. To everyone’s excitement Dancing With The Stars bought in 90’s tv star Alfonso Ribeiro. While Ribeiro broke into the business on Broadway, many know him due to his star role as Carlton on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Ribeiros’ character was known for his catchy dance titled “The Carlton,” which he would do when he was really excited. Fans of the show finally got their prayers answered, as the NYC native let loose “The Carlton” in week 3.
Ribeiro was tentative to bring the dance move out too early, as he didn’t want to use it as a crutch to gain the support of viewers. “I was pigeonholed as an actor based on that character,” said Ribeiro. With that being said, Alfonso felt obliged to give the people what they wanted in week 3. “I love how it makes people feel. I love the fact that people have this nostalgic look at that dance,” he said. “My No. 1 goal this week is to please the fans and to give America what I feel they’ve been asking for since the beginning of this show: The Carlton.”
